Bring Home the Bacon at c3 Artspace

Bring Home the Bacon is about an element of society that I encounter regularly and find the strangest and also most interesting: corporate and institutional-style interiors. It is a part of society in which I am a willing participant, but also one that I recognise as absurd and lacking value. These paintings take a look at the catering excess that is often encountered in these situations. Inside this bubble, extravagance, excess and wastage is normal, yet outside it appears grotesque. The works may have a familiar feel to some of us who have encountered these scenarios and are designed to comment on notions of status, oblivious privilege, human behaviour and futility. 

I know I am not the first person to ask myself “how did I get here?”

Sunshine Coast Art Prize 2017 Shortlist

My work Super Natural (oil on canvas, 127 x 147cm) has been included in the 2017 Sunshine Coast Art Prize and will be on view at the Caloundra Regional Gallery 17 August - 8 October 2017.

Arthur Guy Memorial Painting Prize 2017 Shortlist

I am honoured to be included in the 2017 shortlist of the Arthur Guy Memorial Painting Prize. The exhibition of shortlisted works will be held at the Bendigo Art Gallery 17 June - 17 September 2017. The shortlisted work is Blue Oasis (below)

Plain Site at Belconnen Arts Centre

Upcoming solo exhibition at Belconnen Arts Centre in Canberra. This one is a site-specific installation consisting of paintings made specifically for the space. It will run 31 May - 16 June.

I have been selected to take part in Blaze 7, the seventh in a yearly survey of selected emerging artists in Canberra and is curated by David Broker, Director,  Canberra Contemporary Art Space and Janice Falsone, Director, Australian National Capital Artists and will run 20 February - 3 March at ANCA Gallery, Dickson ACT.
